1961 Junior World Series
The 1961 Junior World Series was the 45th meeting between the champions of the American Association and International League. The Louisville Colonels had won their second straight American Association playoff by beating the Houston Buffs and Denver Bears, while the International League's Buffalo Bisons dropped only one postseason game en route to winning their first Governors' Cup since 1957. The Bisons shut out the Colonels twice in four games to win their first-ever Junior World Series.
