History, Comments, Contributions[edit]
The 1991 Chicago White Sox sported new uniforms and had a new home. They lost 16-0 to the Detroit Tigers in their first game at new Comiskey Park (today known as U.S. Cellular Field), but the club went on to repeat their second place finish of 1990.
On August 11th, pitcher Wilson Alvarez threw a no-hitter in his Sox debut.
Following the season, manager Jeff Torborg resigned to go to the New York Mets. He was replaced by Pittsburgh Pirates coach Gene Lamont, a protégé of Jim Leyland.
