2000 Little League World Series
The 2000 Little League World Series was the 54th Little League World Series. Competing teams were Toronto, ON, Tokyo, Dhahran, Maracaibo, Zulia, Davenport, IA, Goffstown, NH, Bellaire, TX and Vancouver, WA. Ross Haggard of Bellaire tossed two shutouts, giving up no runs in 12 2/3 IP for the Series.
In the finale, Maracaibo edged Bellaire by a 3-2 score. Ruben Mavarez (2 R in 6 IP; also scored a run) outdueled Alex Atherton (12 K, 2 H; also 2 for 2 with a RBI at the plate), both going the distance.
