Biographical Information[edit]
Andy Mota was signed as a 12th round pick in the 1987 amateur draft by the Houston Astros and scout Doug Deutsch.
Mota, from a baseball family, broke into the majors with the Astros in 1991, the same year as his brother Jose Mota. The two had both attended California State University, Fullerton.
He is the son of Manny Mota, cousin of Jose Baez, and brother of Jose Mota, Gary Mota, and Tony Mota.
He is currently a player agent and has represented a number of prominent major league stars, including Hanley Ramirez.
