Biographical Information[edit]
August Shaumeyer was a minor league player in the 1900s.
Shaumeyer split 1901 between the Memphis Egyptians (.181) and St. Joseph Saints. In 1902, he was with the Iola Gasbags. With the '03 Iola Gaslighters, he hit .315. He was second in the Missouri Valley League in batting average. With Iola in '04, he batted .296. The 33-year-old split 1905 between the Oklahoma City Mets and Leavenworth Orioles, hitting a combined .245. He ended his career with the 1907 Leavenworth Convicts (and managed the team for part of the year).
