Biographical Information[edit]

IF Bruce Crabbe played minor league baseball from 1984 to 1992, spending the last six seasons in AAA without making the majors.

Crabbe began his post-playing career in 1994 as the manager of the co-op team, Butte Copper Kings. He spent the next three years with the Colorado Silver Bullets. This was an all-women's baseball team that barnstormed the country playing against men's teams. He was the Director of Player Development each year and also served an their infield coach the first two years. In 1997, Crabbe took over managerial duties from Phil Niekro who had just been elected to the Hall of Fame.

The Texas Rangers hired Crabbe in 1998 and he worked in their organization through the 2004 season. In the first four years he managed the Pulaski Rangers in the Appalachian League. Their season didn't start until June, so he spent the first two months each year coaching one of the other affiliates - the Tulsa Drillers in 1998 and the Oklahoma RedHawks in 1999-2001. He coached exclusively with the RedHawks in 2002-2004. In addition, Crabbe served as the hitting coach for the Frederick Regiment of the Maryland Fall League after the 1998 regular season.

Crabbe joined the Boston Red Sox player development system in 2005 and held a number of positions in the ensuing years.

He was scheduled to return to Pawtucket in 2020 before the minor league season was cancelled due to COVID-19.

In 2022 Crabbe moved to the Atlanta Braves chain as manager of the Mississippi Braves.
