Biographical Information[edit]

Burlin White was a Negro League catcher and first baseman between 1915 and 1928. He also managed in the Boston Royal Giants of the Negro Major League in 1942.

White debuted in 1915 with the West Baden Sprudels. He played for Bowser's ABCs and the Chicago American Giants in 1916, the American Giants and the Atlantic City Bacharachs in 1917, the New York Lincoln Giants in 1921, the Bacharach Giants and the Harrisburg Giants in 1923, and the Lincoln Giants in 1925. Catcher was his primary position, though he also played first base, usually batting in that bottom of the lineup. He played on a number of marginal teams through the 1920s and 1930s as well.

He managed the Boston Royal Giants in 1942, during the only season of the Negro Major League. Upon his retirement from baseball, he settled in Boston. He died in 1971
