Biographical Information[edit]
Cal Irvin was the brother of Negro league star and Hall of Famer Monte Irvin. He played for the Newark Eagles in 1946 and the New York Black Yankees and Raleigh Grays in 1947; the New York Giants offered him a contract, but he turned it down.
He then became a successful basketball coach at North Carolina A&T State University.
He played college basketball and football at Morgan State University.
