It took the major leagues until 1973 to produce a centenarian (Ralph Miller); thirteen have followed in 35 years. All are listed below, along with at least five Negro League players who reached that mark.

Chet Hoff was the oldest living former MLB player ever having died at the age of 107. In 2006, it was discovered that former Negro Leaguer Si Simmons was still alive at age 110. Simmons died later that year, after his 111th birthday.
