Chotaro Muramatsu

Chotaro Muramatsu was a star hurler for the high school team that won the 1937 spring Koshien tournament. Muramatsu joined the Tokyo Senators in 1939 and hit .160/.271/.198 as an outfielder. In 1940, the teenager hit .175/.296/.224 in 58 games for Tsubasa and was 1-0 with a 3.75 ERA in 11 appearances on the mound. The next season, he batted only .121/.203/.138 in 36 games for Taiyo. In 1942, Chotaro produced at a .192/.270/.240 clip in 70 games. Overall, he had hit .175/.270/.219 in 198 career games.

Muramatsu died in a flight training accident during World War II.
