Biographical Information[edit]
Clay Christiansen pitched 24 games for the New York Yankees in 1984, going 2-4 with a 6.05 ERA and 2 saves in his only taste of the high life. A member of the Kansas Jayhawks at the same time as Steve Jeltz, Clay won 16 games in the minors in 1981 and 1982. The only other major leaguer (through 2019) with the last name Christiansen has been Jason Christiansen.
He was originally signed by scout Russ Sehon.
