Daiei Stars
In 1949, the Kinsei Stars of the Japanese Professional Baseball League changed their name to the Daiei Stars after being bought by the Daiei Motion Picture Company. The Stars played in Bunkyo, Tokyo. In 1950 they became charter members of the Pacific League when the JPBL split into two distinct entities. They were in the middle of the pack for their first few years, then slipped to the cellar in 1954 and stayed in the second division, or B-class, the next two years. In 1957, they merged with the Takahashi Unions to from the Daiei Unions.
