The Daytona Beach Explorers began play in the Senior Professional Baseball Association in 1990 when the Bradenton Explorers relocated to Daytona Beach, FL. The Explorers had a record of 11-11 and were in 4th place when the league ceased operations on December 28, 1990. Some of the notable players were Cesar Cedeno, Garth Iorg, Ken Reitz, Ron Washington, Jose Cruz Sr., Omar Moreno and Ross Grimsley.
