Amos Richard (Dick) Scott is the first of three major leaguers remembered as "Dick Scott". He pitched three games at age 18 for the 1901 Cincinnati Reds under manager Bid McPhee. Two of the games were against the New York Giants and Christy Mathewson.

Dick was born in Bethel, OH and also played part of 1901 in the Western Association. He was with the Terre Haute Hottentots in 1902-04, and was with the Columbus Senators for part of 1904.

He committed suicide in 1911.
