Eddie Haas had one career home run, on July 22, 1960 for the Milwaukee Braves against the Chicago Cubs. The pitcher was Don Elston. He was an Atlanta Braves coach from 1974 to 1977 and in 1984 before managing the club in 1985.
In addition to his three years in the majors, Eddie had eleven years in the minors, often hitting over .300. In his best season, he hit .373 in 78 games for the 1963 Denver Bears, often pinch-hitting. Haas was also a minor league manager for 13 seasons between 1966 and 1984.
Eddie is the brother of minor leaguer Lou Haas and the cousin of Phil Roof, Gene Roof, and minor leaguers Paul Roof, David Roof, Adrian Roof, Shawn Roof, Jonathan Roof and Eric Roof. He is also the father of minor leaguers Matt Haas and Danny Haas.
