Biographical Information[edit]

Ensign Cottrell pitched 12 games for five different teams in five consecutive seasons in the majors. The lengthiest of his looks came with the 1915, pitching 7 times (21 1/3 innings) with the New York Yankees, posting his lowest ERA (3.38) in the process. After baseball, he worked as a civil engineer and surveyor.

Notable Achievement[edit]

  • Won a World Series with the Boston Braves in 1914 (he did not play in the World Series)
