The Fort Wayne Kekiongas were officially called the "Kekionga Base Ball Club" or "Kekigonga of Fort Wayne."

They were a one-year team who played what is considered the first game in major league history defeating the Cleveland Forest Citys, 2-0, on May 4, 1871. They were a member of the National Association.

In the Miami language, the name Kekigonga means Blackberry Patch.
