Biographical Information[edit]

Frank McCrea played one game in the majors, in 1925 at age 29. He caught the whole game, and got one hit in five at-bats. Most of his at-bats that day were against future Hall of Famer Eddie Rommel, who had already won 21 games at that point in the season. Frank singled against Rommel in the fourth inning.

McCrea was born in Jersey City, NJ, and played minor league ball in Jersey City as well. In 1925, when he wasn't playing for the 1925 Cleveland Indians, he was with the Hamilton Clippers, for whom he hit .310. The minor league database shows him as playing in the minors between 1923-30.
