After serving in the Army during World War II, shortstop Frederick Postolese played six seasons in the Brooklyn Dodgers organization. He had his best season in 1949 with the Greenville Spinners, hitting .303. While in the minors, he roomed with future Dodgers manager Tommy Lasorda.
His brother, Norman Postolese, also played minor league ball.
