Han-Chou Tseng was a designated hitter (and very rarely a first baseman) in six seasons in the Chinese Professional Baseball League.

Tseng was part of the star-laden Taiwan club that won the 1990 Little League World Series. He later played in the 1995 World Junior Championship, helping Taiwan win a Silver Medal. He was 1 for 5 with a double for Taiwan when they won Bronze in the 1997 World Port Tournament.

Tseng turned pro with the 2002 Chinatrust Whales, hitting .270/.348/.372. In 2003, he batted .332/.431/.458 and was named to the Best Ten as the top DH in Taiwan. Had he qualified, he would have been 5th in the league in average behind Cheng-Min Peng, Chih-Yuan Chen, Hiroaki Yoshimi and Lien-Hung Chen. He fell to .179/.361/.214 in 2004 but rebounded to bat .272/.353/.416 and make the Best Ten again in 2005.

In 2006, the 28-year-old hit .251/.329/.409, followed by .245/.368/.403 as the Whales captain in 2007. After that season, he was suspended by the league due to his involvement in the game-betting scandal which destroyed the Whales.
