Biographical Information[edit]
Hansel DeBartolo was a part-owner of the Chicago White Sox. He bought into the team in 1981.
DeBartolo was a doctor and surgeon by trade. He earned his M.D. from Loyola University's Stritch School of Medicine and his junior doctorate from Taft Law School. He was a member of numerous professional organizations, including the American Medical Association, Priestley Surgical Society and Doctors Mayo Society, and practiced head and neck surgery for over 36 years. In addition, he wrote numerous scholarly journal articles.
