IMG Academy

The IMG Academy is a private athletic training institution located in Bradenton, FL and includes a high school for student athletes. It was founded in 1978 as an elite tennis academy and expanded to other sports over the years.

In 2018, the MLBPA organized a special spring training camp on the premises in order to highlight the plight of the large number of free agents who remained unsigned as major league training camps were about to open. Former manager Bo Porter was put in charge of organizing structured workouts for the players who chose to attend.
