Biographical Information[edit]
Following his retirement as a player after the 2014 season, J.J. Putz was hired by the Arizona Diamondbacks on November 6th, as a special assistant to team President Derrick Hall. He will also work as a spring training instructor for the club and will visit with the team's various minor league affiliates during the season to provide coaching assistance.
He became eligible for the Hall of Fame in its 2020 election. He did manage to receive one vote but was dropped from the ballot as that still left him miles away from the necessary 5% to have his name considered again.
