Biographical Information[edit]
Jimmy Adair wore number 45 over a two week period with the 1931 Chicago Cubs. He batted .276/.286/.342 in 18 games. Later, he was a coach for the Chicago White Sox 1951 and 1952, the Baltimore Orioles from 1957 to 1961 and the Houston Colt .45s from 1962 to 1965. He also scouted for the Orioles, Kansas City A's/Oakland A's, Kansas City Royals and the Dallas Eagles in 1953, switching jobs with Clyde McDowell.
His son, Steve, was the head coach at SMU from 1977 to 1980; he also coached at the University of Plano. Jimmy died from a heart attack in 1982. He was posthumously elected to the Texas Baseball Hall of Fame.
