Biographical Information[edit]
Joe Camacho was a minor league infielder from 1948 to 1957. He missed the 1951 and 1952 seasons due to military service during the Korean War. He led the 1950 Border League shortstops with 243 putouts and 411 assists while hitting .311. In 1953, Camacho led the Northern League with 139 runs, tied for the lead with 35 doubles and also led the league's shortstops with 228 putouts.
Camacho was a Washington Senators bench coach from 1969 to 1971 and remained a member of the team's staff in 1972 when they became the Texas Rangers.
