Biographical Information[edit]
Jose Alou was an outfielder in the Montreal Expos farm system from 1987 to 1989. He saw action in 243 games for the Burlington and West Palm Beach Expos. His career batting average was .255. He collected 10 home runs, 28 doubles and 2 triples.
Jose comes from a large baseball family. His father Felipe, Sr., brother Moises, cousin Mel Rojas, and uncles Matty and Jesus all played in the major leagues. His brothers Felipe, Jr. and Luis Rojas were also minor league ball players and Luis became a major league manager. Jose played for his father in his two seasons at West Palm Beach. He later was a San Francisco Giants scout (starting in 2012), signing Aramis Garcia and Franklin van Gurp.
