Biograhical information

Julio Lugo was released by the Houston Astros during the 2003 season after ongoing legal problems, including alleged assault on his wife. He is the brother of pitcher Ruddy Lugo.

He was one day short of his 46th birthday when he died of an apparent heart attack in November of 2021.
