Biographical Information[edit]

Kaoru Betto - known as “the Gentleman of Baseball” - was one of the first Japanese power hitters and played for the Osaka Tigers in 1948 and 1949.

Actor Jeff Bridges wore a t-shirt bearing Betto's likeness in two films - The Fisher King and The Big Lebowski.

He played in the Zen-Osaka industrial league.
