Biographical Information[edit]

Keith Weber was a college star who only played briefly in the pros.

Weber set University of Missouri school records for ERA (.56), wins (11) and strikeouts (90) in 1964, winning All-American honors. He took the team to the 1964 College World Series. A two-sport star, he played quarterback for the school's football team (but did not make varsity due to injuries). He pitched for the US in the 1964 Olympics. Signing with the New York Mets, he was 4-4 with a 3.58 ERA in 15 games for the 1965 Williamsport Mets. At the plate, he was 4 for 29 with a triple, 2 walks, 2 runs, 3 RBI and 11 whiffs. He later was an assistant football coach at his alma mater, while going to law school. He spent the rest of his career working in real estate. He died of cancer.
