Team History

Previously called the Kingsport Mets, the Kingsport Axmen's new name is absolutely fitting considering Daniel Boone and his "Axmen" began The Wilderness Trail in Kingsport, TN.

In their inaugural season, the Appalachian League cancelled the Axmen's season with the team at 12-19 due to an incident involving a player who made threats to kill his teammates. A "Road Warriors" team made up of different players was created to fill the Axmen's remaining schedule.
