Lachine, QC
Players who were born here / Players who died here
Lachine is located at the south end of the Island of Montreal, QC, on the Saint-Lawrence River at a spot where rapids make navigation impossible. The city got its unusual name when Cavelier de La Salle set up his base for his expedition in which he would explore most of the Mississippi River in the early 17th Century, while local folks snickered at his plan to reach China by canoe. Lachine has since been incorporated into the city of Montreal, QC.
