MLB Network
MLB Network is a cable and satellite television channel owned and operated by Major League Baseball and based out of Secaucus, NJ. The channel launched in nearly 50 million cable and satellite homes on January 1, 2009 as the largest debut in cable television history, exceeding any other cable television launch by approximately 20 million homes.
Within its first month, the Network was the source for the announcements of the provisional 2009 World Baseball Classic Rosters and the retirements of Sean Casey and Jeff Kent.
MLB Network shows live games, original programming, highlights, classic games, and coverage of baseball events. Original programs include Hot Stove and MLB Tonight.
