Biographical Information

Matt Ranson has been a college coach and scout.

Ranson was a pitcher then assistant coach at Fort Hays State University. In 2003, he coached Coffeyville Community College. From 2004-2006, he was head coach for Fort Hays State. He then spent a year as pitching coach at Emporia State University before becoming an Oakland A's scout. He signed Sonny Gray, Kris Hall, Justin Marks, Chad Oberacker, Dan Tenholder and Josh Whitaker among others.
