Michael González has been an infielder for the La Habana Cowboys. He was 21 for 76 with 3 doubles, a triple, homer and 8 walks in 2007-2008, fielding .962. Through that season, his third, he had a career average of .223. He went 16 for 63 with two home runs and seven walks in 2008-2009.

González hit .205/.309/.273 in 2009-2010 and was 5th in the Cuban Serie Nacional with 12 sacrifice hits. He fielded .982 and won the Gold Glove at shortstop.
