Mickey Jiang

Biographical Information[edit]

Mickey Jiang grew up in the Republic of China (Taiwan) and played college ball at Tunghai University while earning a degree in international trade. He later attended Northwestern Polytechnic University where he earned a MBA degree. As of this writing (2021), he is working on a master's degree in performance psychology.

The Boston Red Sox hired Jiang in 2007 as an interpreter for Taiwanese players in their minor league system and also used him as a fourth coach. He has remained in this dual role ever since and moved up and down their system based upon their need for an interpreter. In addition to the coaching roles listed below, Jiang has spent some time at the major league level as an interpreter. Through the course of his career, he has served as the interpreter for Che-Hsuan Lin, Chih-Hsien Chiang, and Tzu-Wei Lin.

Jiang was scheduled to return to the Gulf Coast League in 2020 before the coronavirus pandemic caused the minor league season to be cancelled.
