Biographical Information[edit]

The son of Tom Gordon and brother of Dee Strange-Gordon, shortstop Nick Gordon was selected by the Minnesota Twins and scout Freddie Thon in the first round of the 2014 amateur draft with the fifth overall pick. He made his pro debut that summer with the Elizabethton Twins, hitting .294 and stealing 11 bases in 57 games. He followed that by hitting .277 in 120 games with 79 runs with the Cedar Rapids Kernels of the Midwest League in 2015. In 2016, he hit .291/.335/.386 in 116 games for the Fort Myers Miracle of the Florida State League.

He was named to the United States team for the 2017 Futures Game. Playing for the Chattanooga Lookouts of the Southern League that year, he hit .270/.341/.408 in 122 games, scoring 80 runs and driving in 66. He made his major league debut with the Twins early in the 2021 season.

On May 12, 2022, he channeled his father in making his first career pitching appearance, pitching mop-up relief in the first game of a doubleheader against the Houston Astros. He logged a scoreless 9th inning on the mound in an 11-3 loss. He had played centerfield in the second of the two games, making a circus catch at one point to highlight his all-around athleticism.

In January of 2018, he released a rap album entitled "I Do It All" under the stage name "G'Cinco."
