Infielder Palmer Muench played in the farm systems of the Kansas City Athletics and the Chicago White Sox from 1960 to 1962. In three seasons, he hit .237 with 28 doubles, 15 triples, and 7 home runs while making stops with the Albuquerque Dukes, the Sarasota Sun Sox, the Minot Mallards, and the Visalia White Sox.
From 1985 to 1994, Muench managed the Southeast Missouri State University baseball team. He also had experience coaching at St. John’s College, Davidson College (1976-1980), Whitman College (1969-1975), and Western State College of Colorado. The American Baseball Coaches Association recognized him for 25 years of collegiate coaching.
