Biographical Information[edit]

Pitcher Randor Bierd was signed by Detroit Tigers scout Ramon Pena in 2003 and played that season for the DSL Tigers, coming stateside in 2004 with the GCL Tigers. He was selected by the Baltimore Orioles from the Tigers in the 2007 Rule V Draft and made his Major League debut on April 2, 2008, pitching two innings of scoreless relief against the Tampa Bay Rays. In 29 games, his lone big league experience, he recorded a 4.91 ERA with a 19/25 BB/K ratio in 36 2/3 innings. Before the 2009 season, Bierd was traded to the Boston Red Sox for David Pauley. He pitched for the Pawtucket Red Sox over parts of two seasons before being released in July 2010.

Bierd was pitching coach of the DSL Red Sox 1 in 2015 and DSL Pirates 1 in 2019.
