Biographical Information[edit]
Rich Alday was a longtime college coach.
Alday started the Pima Community College baseball program and went 496-220 from 1973-1989. In 1985, he finished second at the Junior College World Series. He then was head coach of University of New Mexico from 1990-2007, going 515-513-3 and setting the school record for career wins. Alday coached softball at Ironwood Ridge High School from 2014 to 2017, then returned to coach baseball at Pima for one season (2018) before retiring yet again.
Alday also coached for Team USA in the 1986 Amateur World Series, 1988 Baseball World Cup, 1988 Olympics and 1996 Olympics.
