Biographical Information

Roy Parnell, often called Red Parnell, played 16 years in the Negro Leagues and also managed a couple of seasons. While he pitched eight games, he was mainly an outfielder, primarily in left field. He has been given serious consideration for the Hall of Fame.

Parnell played half of his career with the Philadelphia Stars (1936-1943) and managed the team for a spell.
