Biographical Information[edit]
Shawn Schlecter played college ball at North Iowa Area Community College from 2011-2012. He joined the NIACC coaching staff in 2013 as a student assistant coach for one year before moving into a paid assistant coach position. Schlecter stayed with the Trojans through 2019. Two other Trojan coaches, head coach Travis Hergert and assistant coach Brett DeGagne also joined the professional coaching ranks in 2020.
Schlecter was scheduled to be the hitting coach for the GCL Twins in 2020 before COVID-19 caused the cancellation of the minor league season. He was a hitting coach for the FCL Twins in 2021 and Cedar Rapids Kernels in 2022.
