Biographical Information[edit]

First baseman Taylor Sanford, the brother of Jack Sanford, played minor league baseball from 1934 to 1946, never rising above class B ball.

Sanford coached Randolph-Macon College then was at Wake Forest University from 1951 to 1955. He managed Wake Forest when they represented the USA in the 1951 Pan American Games. Under his leadership, the Deamon Deacons won the 1955 College World Series.
