Biographical Information[edit]
Wallace Carpenter played five seasons in the minors as a pitcher and a position player. He made his pro debut in the Appalachian League prior to serving in the Army during World War II. After the war, he returned to baseball and later managed the Granite Falls Graniteers of the Western Carolina League for a portion of the 1951 season.
Following his baseball career, Carpenter was a professor at Gardner-Webb University, a high school baseball coach, and a city councilman in Rutherfordton, North Carolina.
