Biographical Information[edit]

Wilton Veras played for the Lowell Spinners (property of the Boston Red Sox) in single "A" short season before making it to the big leagues for two short stints with the Red Sox in 1999 and 2000.

In 2009, Veras hit in 29 consecutive games, breaking Gary Burnham's record for a foreigner in the Chinese Professional Baseball League; Burnham's mark had been 23 games. In both 2005 and 2009, he was honored as the Best Ten pick at third base in the CPBL. His 172 hits in 2009 were a record until Po-Jung Wang shattered it by 28 in 2016. Down to .238 in 2010, he was let go in August.

Veras was a coach for the DSL Red Sox in 2012-2014, DSL Red Sox 1 in 2015, Lowell Spinners in 2016, and Greenville Drive in 2017-2018. He was then infield coach for the DSL Reds in 2021.
