Speedy outfielder Yoshifumi Okada debuted in Nippon Pro Baseball in 2010.

Okada had an elbow injury early in his college career and dropped out. He then worked for Ashikaga Gas while playing for a local team. The Chiba Lotte Marines drafted him to their taxi squad in 2008. He was promoted to the regular roster in March 2009. He came up to the big club in 2010. He hit .176/.224/.190 in 161 plate appearances over 72 games as a back-up center fielder.
