Nate Colbert was the Padres first star. On July 25th, 1972, Nate became the first Padres player to bat in an all-star game, drawing a walk and scoring the winning run for the NL. A week later on August 1, 1972, he hit 5 home runs and drove in 13 runs against the Braves in Atlanta Fulton County Stadium. He is the all time Padres home run leader with 163.
